Well, about twelve collective hours of work and 76 layers and it's finally done! I'd just like to say in my defense that Shepard's expression came out all wrong in the inking process. Yet another case of "looked way better in pencil". Plus I don't think I got his chin right.

I tried out something new with this, going for a softer look to the relationship between the colors and lines. I tried my best to get rid of as many lines I could, or at least make them more subtle. And update to GIMP made that much harder. AND Gimp is still not a good program to paint textures with, especially with the brushes I have, but with a lot of easing along, I'm satisfied with the result. Although, a lot of the details that I did on Liara's crest probably aren't showing through very well because of all the shadowing I had to do.

And yes; I know the background isn't that original.-

This particular piece was inspired by a Leona Lewis song. And yes; I listen to a couple of her songs. Don't judge me. Well, the exact piece that the song inspired I'm still working on, but this was an outrunner of the original idea that developed while I was working on it. And there's actually a third Shepard/Liara piece rattling around in my head, but I think I'm at least going to finish another piece of a completely different subject that's in the process of being inked first.

This was actually the very first romance that I did in Mass Effect, and one I stayed utterly loyal to throughout my first playthrough of Mass Effect 2. It was a refreshing change after about twenty or so NoMance Shepards.

And another thing; Default Male Shepard is underrated. His is still my personal favorite Male Shepard face.
