Red In Winter {Pale Eyes Story}
The wind shrieks against the towering trees, making them shakedown to their roots. The cold air swirled into a large cave opening, dragging debris and scattering it throughout the inside. Suddenly a loud bang rumbled through the frozen ground.
Deep within the cave, an albino tokota named Lilly jolted awake, shaking up her much larger mate.
"What was that! It sounded like a gun!"
"No, no love, it was just thunder," Barnabas said softly, rolling his dark furred body back over to sleep.
"No, it was a gun! A gun Barnabas!" Lilly's body tensed in fear. Her pale blue eyes fixed on the cave opening, scanning the outside for movement. But the thrashing trees swirled with her vision making it impossible to tell what's alive and what’s not.
"Everything's fine, go back to sleep," Barnabas said, continuing to reassure her.
Lilly whimpered, then cautiously dropped down into the soft bedding. She nuzzled herself as close
