Description
I've tried out to paint something abstract using the "difference" mode in Photoshop. After experimenting around a bit with this unusual paint mode, it felt quite interesting to paint with only black and white and a standard soft brush.
Original Res.: 3840 x 2160
Time spent: 2 hours
Additional Note:
This abstract painting served as experimental base for this illustration: [link]

The middle reminds me of a gaping maw of some Lovecraftian horror. Nice job.

Reminds me of something out of the Aliens Trilogy or anything like that. It's awesome anyway.

It is always wonderful to experiment with different techniques and see what happens. This seems to have worked very well. I never would have thought to paint with the difference filter.

That's pretty cool. I, unfortunately, don't experiment very much. I tend to find a way I like and then stick with it to the bitter end. lol. I give up on my experiments pretty quickly.

I was thinking exactly what dcjosh was. It reminded me of an outlined vectored image of some sort. Gives the abstractness a real crisp feel.

You and your experiments, haha... this turned out very interesting... I've always found the difference blending mode to be fairly useless, trust you to change my mind.
