just...tell me please

how do you get fine point ends on your brush strokes

how do you keep the strokes fine and steady? (on gimp 2.0 there are no stabilizers to help it go in a nice clean way, even though gimp is exactly the same as photoshop)

do oyu put every color on a separate layer?

HOW do you do multiple lassos and how do you go out of the pic with the lasso and manage to not turn the selected Background shaded too?

infx-studios In reply to LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 05:11:54 +0000 UTC]

In photoshop you can choose the size of the brush I always use 3 pixels for the line art

LordOmegaZ In reply to infx-studios [2011-12-10 05:15:43 +0000 UTC]

i dont have photoshop i have gimp 2.0 its the exact same (bit different but same tools)

3 pixels for the line art? what is that?

can you walk me through it pls?

cos i really would like to try out lineart and sketching in gimp

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

infx-studios In reply to LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 06:22:04 +0000 UTC]

is just settings in photoshop to define the thickness of the brush

LordOmegaZ In reply to infx-studios [2011-12-10 11:14:14 +0000 UTC]

but how?!?!?!?!?

where do i go?

how? how? HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW?

im seriously gonna break the keyboard if i dont get answers

why is it always me that gets this bad luck

infx-studios In reply to LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 14:38:47 +0000 UTC]

You said you didn't have PHOTOSHOP the problem is you are trying to figure out this style with something other than photoshop, of course is going to be impossible. Remember: "Use as directed" no substitution.

LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 04:32:42 +0000 UTC]

so i guess ill have to no do it as you do it

or do it the way i did and take up a even longer time shading pics

LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 04:32:06 +0000 UTC]

its cost the pen moves so quick

in sai i have the option to stabilize the pen and make it go slower for a clean curved stroke

but in gimp i got no pressure and no stabilizer

LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 04:20:51 +0000 UTC]

you make it so easy too ;w;

how do you get multiple lassos at the same time?

mine only lets one at a time (((

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

infx-studios In reply to LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 05:09:36 +0000 UTC]

To keep making multiple lassos you have to hold down the shift key

i meant how?

whenever i use the tablet i cant keep the lines steady and i cant slow them down to make a fine pointed line (cant even make a fine point)

infx-studios In reply to LordOmegaZ [2011-12-10 14:40:22 +0000 UTC]

I draw straight into my computer with the cintiq [link] is just like using paper (I sent you this link before).

Kenshi2987 [2011-08-31 07:40:16 +0000 UTC]

ive iterally never coloured any of my works before.. so.. can i ask a question..? What's the use of colouring the silhouette of the lineart in brown? I dont colour things (YEt >;D) so i dont know why that is xD
By the way your lighting and shading methods are AWESOME! xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

infx-studios In reply to Kenshi2987 [2011-08-31 08:19:49 +0000 UTC]

good question
the reason i use light brown is because it makes it easy to distinguish the line art on the silhouette. if i use a darker color i can lose the line art making it harder to see when coloring.
there are many reasons why is better here are three of them:

1) in photoshop when you use the bucket tool it sometimes leaves gaps that can be a pain (not to mention time consuming) to fix. the silhouette covers the gaps the paint from the bucket leaves behind.

2) coloring the silhouette keeps the colors inside the desired area you want to color it wont spill outside your subject

3) since you did all the coloring on a different layer, that means your line art is untouched. meaning you can try different variations of colors without ruining your line art.

The big advantage of this method is that the line art is conserved intact and can be used for other pieces

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tokon00 In reply to infx-studios [2011-02-01 21:18:39 +0000 UTC]

I gotta give that a try that right now I'm in story mode. I usually make two or three copies of line art in case I mess up and save over it so I really liked this one.
