Description
Another animation for my class. It got me a little more familiar with the running cycles, but I still need tons of practise. While doing this project, I realized that I wasn't ready to animate yet. There are so many things that I don't know about animation, about movement, anatomy of the animals, landscapes, camera angles, etc. . .I couldn't have done it without the referance and I felt that I needed guidance and advise.Oh, well here it is

You're very welcome. The movement of the animals were really good, you had to look it up in a book right? or did you do it from scratch? I'm trying to get good at the jonts and such :3

I used reference from an animation book and have watched many many videos of horses and wolves running. Good luck and let me know how it goes

You shouldn't feel too bad about using a reference. I'm in an animation course, and everytime i don't get or i'm not sure to get a movement right, my tutors encourage me to go outside and observe real life animals-people.
Hand drawn animation is really difficult to master, so yeah, you will improve for sure, but don't feel too bad at the moment.Β
To be fair, the scene when the horse is turning was really good. I guess it's a really different scene to get. Also, you can always improve with anatomy.

Thank you for your comment. I do realize that reference is very important and knowledge of anatomy as well. The more you observe life the easier it is to animate and focus on movement, emotion, etc., instead of being concerned if it looks right or not. I did this animation a while ago and I have improved a lot since then. Feel free to check out my gallery for newer work. Also good luck with school, I just graduated last May

Very good use of run cycles! Β And don't feel bad that there's a lot you don't know, everyone starts out that way. Β Also, using references is not a bad thing. Β Professional animators (as in people who work for big studios) do that all the time. Β They often film themselves acting out bits of movement so that they'll be sure to get it right in the animation.

Thank you for the comment. I have made this animation before starting the animation program at my college. I have learned so much more since then and have made more films of course you can see them in my gallery.

This is so impressive. Amazing job. Animation is hard, I hear ya. But you look like you're definitely on the right track.

Thanks. I animated this before starting the animation program at my college. It was even harder to do because I didn't have much knowledge about animating.

Animating really is a hard thing to do. I've tried to get on that train and I never really took to it. There's just a lot to learn and a lot involved! I'm sure you're excellent now though! Because that was a really good animation!

Thanks again for the nice comment. You can check out my more recent work on my account. Animation does take a lot of dedication, but I feel like it's important to find something you really like doing.

Wolf drawings were very good. I'm jealous of your running cycles! I can never seem to get all the legs in the right positions.
