(Sonic Prime VS Ratchet & Clank)
Alternate-universe versions of iconic anthropomorphic mechanics. Both live in a dystopian city in a universe where the main villain, an evil scientist with a robot army, won and took over the world, and both have cybernetic appendages due to fateful incidences in their lives. Both would eventually meet the protagonist, who they initially didn't trust due to their hardened nature and rough lives before learning to trust them and others more, and both would get involved in dimension-shattering events in order to stop the villains from taking over all of reality.
In contrast, Rivet does end up fully trusting Ratchet and working with him to save reality, whereas Nine would betray Sonic and put the entire Shatterverse at risk to create a new world in his image, before eventually redeeming himself and making amends with Sonic.

More alternate Sonic media getting some time to shine would be cool and Nine is one of Prime's more interesting characters, so this matchup vibes a fair bit for me.
