Yeah this is pretty different from everything else I do 8D

I knew I wanted to work with realism again since it'd been so long. I am very happy with how this turned out. Considering I rarely draw realism to such a degree and try to absorb what I see in real life and tutorials I feel like I learned a lot. I used several different photos only for "realism reference" as in how light works, how noses can be shaped, and how lips/skin/hair work with light, etc.

This is my original character Shai. He rarely looks like this, and I usually like to draw him like this for fun. His normal nature is the complete opposite and gentle. Though I also find the idea of innocent looking characters having 180 personalities or put in crazy ass situations to be very fun to play with @u@.

Inspired by the song 'Rise' by Yoko Kanno. (and many others from GITS)

Also, outfit inspired by Evangelion and GITS militant uniforms. I have more sketches of him in such outfits and even with artillery, but the work in them is nothing compared to what I put into this.
Worked on over the course of three days. : )

:'D *SOB* I've missed making art that I can put a lot of time into and get a lot out of while still feeling good about it.
