"Pure" or "Alpha" Humans are those Humans who have opted not to receive the Alliance Panimmunity vaccine, or any of the other medical modifications available to Alliance citizens. They are relatively few in number. Most take a bizarre kind of pride in their refusal to "submit" to the elimination of genetic defects, of the acceptance of potentially life-saving preventative medicine.
