No.5 for February! So this is early, but I realized today that it was two days until Valentines. Normally it takes me a couple of days to complete a picture...BUT MAN WAS I ON FIRE.
xD This got done really fast and I'm super happy with that fact, and with it!
This idea has been sitting around in my head for a LONG time, but I really wanted to save it for Valentines.

Snowbird is a poor ship because it's popularity origins from theΒ fandom's unhealthy obsession with cliches, in this case the "They hate each other so they have to become a couple in the end." Cliche, which is an especially poor cliche because the poor story telling it symbolises in many films and of coarse the fandom, which is especially toxic for a fandom of a show that so desperately tries to recognize its fandom's existence. I strongly dislike SnowBird because it symbolises what I believe makes a truly toxic fandom: The failure to not only appreciate the show for what it is instead convincing yourself and others that it's something else, but also contemplate to learn more about what all there is to appreciate. Again, SnowBird is solely based on the community's obsession for cliches, rather than based on any appreciation for who the characters actually are. As someone who has had a beloved franchise ruined because of a popular but poorly thought headcanon of the community before, this scares and intimidates me, making me uncomfortable but also worried for the franchise's future if things like this continue and escalate.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had those problems. But that doesn't necessarily mean the ship is bad! It just means there are immature people who get obsessed with things, and then get immature about them. I ship Snowbird a little cause I find it entertaining, I don't care a lot whether or not it shows up in the actual series. I'll continue to enjoy the franchise either way.
That being said, please be respectful of the people who enjoy this ship, because not all of them are like you say.
