I mean.... this was ALMOST hinted at.
What with they're interactions with each other, but I guess the people at RT seem to notice an increase risk of Fan-backlash if Ruby got with Jaune.
"Oh no! A straight ship?! F#ck RT I'm never watching RWBY again!" Is what they were probably afraid of if they even hinted Lancaster, at least to my mind.

No no... nooo. I'll take back what I said to Arkos and if Pyrrha didn't die I would've let her have Jaune all to herself no matter how happy or spleenful I might have been but if Pyrrha ever comes back from the dead than I hope that Pyrrha is more than willing to tell Jaune that she would be happy if he will protect and love Ruby (as Ruby's Golden Protector) for her and all three of them could avoid this accursed Rose Garden ship and they would move forward as co-leaders along with the others. Hell as they keep going we might see a female character that would be suitable for Oscar but not Ruby. So CRWBY better take the Lancaster route because I wouldn't want them to play with fire if they don't.

I don't care if Ozpin will have the freedom to leave Oscar as a vessel or not cause Arkos and Rosegarden better burn to the ground and Lancaster better rise from the ashes of war.

Beautiful. Like you, I'm mostly neutral when it comes to RWBY ships (although I am a fan of Bumblebee), so I could take or leave Lancaster. I know many people are into Rosegarden now, but I kinda hope it won't happen - I think it's pretty creepy.
