Acrylic 24 x 30Experimenting with tools and colours. A little Impressionism mixed with changing season's. The Australian Autumn is upon us. I have a hard time adjusting to the change in season's. I think I would rather be heading into Spring... Enjoy all my friends and family on the other side of the pond!T

I had fun painting it. This is the first shot at it and I think I like it the most. I sometimes over paint things. Don't know when to stop. I will get it eventually. Thanks so much. I have been so delinquent on DA. Lots been going on with life. Hope all is going well for you.

would love to do that, but when things are going on in the US that need tended to I don't have a choice. Tim graduates in Fall so we will get a double whammy with a cold season. How is himself, has he had any surgery yet?

well perhaps some day you can do pond hopping whenever you like
he is scheduled for mid april for the 2nd surgery. The third surgery will be sometime after that heals

what is it about those purple tree trunks, how they come out of the greyer background? Some nice color combos and psycho daisies.

One of the magic aspects of submissions to dA is that you often misinterpret what you see at first sight. This has the benefit of making you re-assess your own experiences to understand why you "got it wrong". This image, Gayle, is a super example of my "getting it wrong". When I glanced at the thumbnail, along with the dozens of others that come up, I thought - wow- someone has submitted a scientific photomicrograph of a cross section of the epidermis, but who and why? I then looked at the submission and it said "Intergrativeone" - "Is Gayle into microscopy or what", I thought. "Good staining technique", my brain continued. I clicked for full view and for a moment I did not understand what I was seeing - I was still in "sci" mode. Looking back at the thumbnail, the optical mistake is clear to me - I did and can see this as a photograph of a stained section on skin from outer layer at the top down through the follicles to the base epidermis beneath. Absolutely brilliant - not what you intended(!) but brilliant for me!

I really look forward to your assessments David. Thanks for the comment. It does have that thumbnail epidermal effect doesn't it??? I have been struggling with going back to my paints... I love photography, but I can get lazy with letting my true love go.... I love colour, and shapes and imagination and and and .... all of it... the smell of paint has always been a favorite too. I am hopelessly in love with Art...

Ah-Ha, Gayle - the smell of paint. In this hazard and risk obsessed world smelling paint and liking it puts you at risk of being thought odd if not mentally deranged - by the smell of course.

I like the colors you chose. Especially for the tree trunks and leaves. The trunks are dark, almost foreboding, but the leaves are bright and cheery.
