It was a neat place to see considering we were right on top of the largest oil spill this country has ever experienced. There was government security everywhere. It appeared to be an area for officials involved with the clean up. The actual facility was closed to the public since Katrina. Evidently it was all under water and records and artifacts were destroyed in the underground rooms which housed the museum area. When we were there it was sloppy with mud from recent rains.

Wow! So so sad... We are in a transition of major change. This huge oil disaster had to happen for change in how we treat the environment/world to take place. Sad but a fact of life...

Enjoy your trip!!! I'm glad you have this opportunity to experience this part of the USA.

yea, really hot and sticky BB ... have now moved inland and crossed state lines. Currently in Fort Worth for a photo shoot then on to Midland for the night. When we get into the mountains we will probably camp some. Been too hot in Louisiana. That was a neat Fort. Those were very old bricks... Civil war era. [link]

Thanks Andy! Hope some day you and Rozzy get to take a trip this long and involved with history. We went to Dallas yesterday and sat on the "grassy knoll" as we peered at the 6th floor "School Depository"
