I may have preempted things when I said that D'Eon was my baby for 2010. Despite the fact that I haven't watched much of Umineko (I'm sorry, I can't deal with watching things that involve child abuse!) I absolutely love the design of this dress. SakuraMikage (the biggest Umineko fangirl I know) asked me to make this for her cosplay group and I couldn't refuse such a pretty outfit!

I have never made a hoop skirt or such a huge poofy skirt like this before, so it was a new experience to have a costume eat yard after yard of fabric and spool after spool of thread. I'm sure my friends were sick of me whining about endless roll-hemming and ruffling during the three weeks it took me to churn out this monster.

Despite all my whining I'm really proud of this costume because it was so different from what I'd done before. There are a few things that I'd like to fix before my next wear, of course!
