So I was thinking of starting a new comic strip. In university I had a strip called 'Corroded Disorder' that ran regularly, caused controverse, angered the clergy yadda, yadda, yadda. This comic had no set characters.

I want a new comic with some more regular characters, but having characters in a weird strip is somewhat constrictive but since it's my comic I'll so whatever I want with it so it can take place anywhere in time and space. No real situation, just wackiness AND THAT'S HOW I LIKES IT!

Mostly the strip will deal with modern insecurities I reckon. Shyboys such as myself can feel insecure in the presence of a luverly lady. Hence this first character who I haven't name but for the purposes of having a title her name will be Violet (for obvious reasons). I've made about 10 characters I like, Violet was the last I sketched but I decided to make a good copy of her for the sake of interest and more people taking notice as my cast of characters is a fairly big sausagefest.

First I sketched her, penner her in, scanned her, penned her in again with Adobe Illustrator, imported her in photoshop and airbrushed, layer masked and vector masked her. Results were pretty good I guess.

She doesn't represent anyone in particular... oh who am I kidding, she's a caricature of what my tastes are and she's probably an amalgam of past crushes. Needless to say her favourite bands include The Smiths, The Pixies and some new indie crap like Ted Leo or Manitoba or someshit.
