Description The chewing of gum and the touching of lips
the silence in our souls resonating

Wordless, opinion-less I sat

Me and this stranger putting on a play
A play for each other
A play for ourselves

The flavor of mint and skin mixing
We felt words weren't needed

But then again they never were
Two strangers we stayed
As the play relayed

We knew each others names,
each others friends

But we only knew
the facade of love we both put up
between our lips
With the taste of mint gum

The flavor of lies the smell of deceit
For everyone knows it is made
to cover up the stench of the living.

The people we were that neither knew
The people we lost
Because neither knew

The words we slew
like beasts with our kisses
And with them I died
My personality withered

I have to say... I've read a lot of poems on here and most are okay. But I really like this one actually. I'm not usually a huge fan of poems either but the thought and analogy is really cool! Nice work!

Thank you so much! I obviously still need some work myself. But I'm glad you liked it \>u👍: 0 ⏩: 0
