Description Asleep, so warm in my dreams, so innocent in my youth, but still an hour away till a smile can set me free. My body is not alive, yet i am not dead either. A rattle followed by yelling shakes me from my thoughts and from my placement in the wall of fertility. I hit the ground and without further warning two piercing needles fuse a Pak to my tender skin. Suddenly i feel, i can feel the remaining pain from the needles and the unwelcoming cold of the metal floor on my bare stomach. I can see, i see a being with anger glazed purple eyes looking down on me. Now i hear, hear her yell at me to rise, so much anger in her that it frightens me to stumble to my feet. "Who is she? And why does she seem so familiar?" i wonder as my eyes slowly adjust to everything new.
Open for the first time i can now see where i have been. Walls of great stature hold tubes with forming Irkens inside them, the content faces on the end of the tubes show that the process has yet to finish. I look down and see a puddle of purple liquid riddled with glass, the end of a tube resides in the mess and wears the same feature as the others. In the puddle i can see my reflection, see myself for the first time. I am so small, my skin is an emerald green, and my eyes the color of dying embers. I step out of the mess and as i do so the other being confronts me. "Where do you think your going?!" She demands. I freeze then shrug a response. "I took you out so i could leave faster." She continues. I decide to interject. "I'm sorry but, why do you need me? I'm not really even sure who you are." My question seems to annoy her further. "Your my sister ." She says sharply. "And one sibling is not allowed to leave without the other." My head only fills with more questions from that one answer, but i have no time to ask any more.
A levitating droid of some sort has snuck out from the shadows during our conversation, long slender arms reach out and coil around our bodies. I feel the sting of its cold metal on my flesh and cringe, as i look up i can see that this has taken my sister by surprise as well. Fear strikes through me as the drone rises with us in its grasp then quickly exits the nursery through a tunnel. I can hear the hum of its motors and the air whistle by from our speed. The air is cool and crisp with the musky scent of oil, not at all like how it was in the nursery. A constant warm with slight humidity to keep our fragile bodies moist and unchapped. Oh how i wish i could return, just slip away and crawl back into my warm tube. My thoughts continue as does this tunnel, it feels like it could go on forever.
Forever ends about ten minutes later when we emerge from the rat hole and find ourselves placed in front two other Irkens. They towered over my sister and i at about eight feet tall, one wore light red and grey, the other wore light purple and grey. They both wore a face of  ill repute, complaining of "this" part of the job and wanting to eat instead. Finally their whining subsided and they turn their attention to us. "Welcome to life as an Irken my young smeets." The red one began. "We are your brave and all powerful leaders, you are to address us as your Tallests, understood?" "Yes my Tallests." My sister announced. A slight smile of satisfaction shown on their faces then the red one continued. " Here we will be giving you your names." Now the purple one spoke. "Not all names are special, but you are to figure out the meaning of them for your selves and live up to them with pride. You will learn to do this over the course of your life."
I am landed with my name, Sinn; and my sister receives her name, Tak. The Tallests continue on about our Life Paks, rules and regulations, schooling, expectations, and more. The lecture continues for about an hour or so then Tak is rewarded for being a suck up with a S.I.R Unit. The Tallests take note on the fact that i am under developed by an hour, because of that i am slightly shorter than my sister. I'm scolded for a bit then told that i need to prove myself worthy of a Unit. My antennas lower as they leave and the cold arms once again wrap around Tak and i. The drone exits through a door and flies into open air over the large city, Tak's S.I.R Unit follows behind. Tak begins to brag about herself but the drone's motor drowns out most of her voice, i slip back into my thoughts where she is made silent.
I look down on the city, so big, so bright, so alive. The darkening purple sky slowly gives way to black and the colors of the city seem to burst to life. Its all so loud and erratic, flashing lights, pictures, graphics, animated screens its all so much. Then i look out, out into the sky and i see three moons all of which are different size and different shades of a very light and relaxed purple, one of them looks almost white. They are all so beautiful, the stars sparkle around them like gems, not bright enough to overwhelm no they give off a glistening dim shine that compliments the moons graciously.
My thoughts are cut into once more by my sister, her shrill laughter, so horrid that it brings tears to my eyes and thickens the air. No, no that is not her doing this, its her S.I.R Unit! She had instructed it to fly next to the drone on it's left side, my side! These units don't run off of electricity like the drones do, they run off of some type of fuel and the emissions are going directly in my face! The black clouds make my eyes tear up more as i gasp for air, my head throbs and my heart is pounding in my chest. Every breathe i drag in my lungs reject with a painful cough, i become weak and as my eyes shut i fear that my first few hours of life have become my last.
