Description
Have you ever felt like the only one in the crowd? Why? Why not? What defines me? How do I challenge that, and can I ever succeed in that challenge?
This project originally created for DRA 155 (Representing Race in Performance) at UC Davis, as taught by Jon Rossini in the spring quarter of 2005.
Also, originally intended for print -- and yet the final version happened to resize proportionally to 1024x768, perfect for digital wallpaper, for the purposes of posting here.
Thanks to ~lurath for the use of her digital camera (and her self) in the shooting portion of the project. No tripods were harmed in the making of this image.

Lots (and lots -- I didn't use all of them) of pictures from the same place, with me cut out of all of them and pasted into place on one background pic. Lots of time cleaning up the edges (and they still show on some places... narr.) And then saturation/lighness shifts on all the "extras" and increase saturation on the background and central portrait. And a filter effect on that center one. And text, slightly shifted to match the lines of the steps. And joy. And a 97% on this and its accompanying essay.
