Description
G A H R O T½Breton/½Bosmer Master Thief & Illusionist from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Finally I finished that piece atfer months.
The title means drug addict. I think I've maybe written in the description under the portrait of my thief that he is addicted to Skooma. I just wanted to illustrate his addiction. That is the result.
On the right beside him you can see everything you need to make some Skooma: Moon sugar, Nightshade, Skooma pipe and Skooma and theres also his favourite Mead, 'Black Briar Brew'.
I am not a fan of drugs, neither have I ever taken anything but I wanted my thief to have a real negative characteristic and some day by accident I discovered the Red Water Den ingame in Skyrim and let my thief take redwater skooma. That's how he became addicted to it and I liked the idea for his profile, so yeah.
comments are loved as always.

this is both beautiful and tragic, a fascinating combination.

nah you can't. the ingredients are there but you can't craft skooma using alchemy.
Don't know why – maybe Bethesda hadn't thought of it. You can only buy/steal it from Khajiit caravans or find it in several places.
Thanks, glad you like it : )

I like so much the perspective and the little details in the picture, the smoke too is a nice effect. The colours are soft but perfect for the atmosphere as the soft light coming from the left side. I love it!<3

Always been a sucker for a fella down on his luck. wanna pick 'em up, dust 'em off, and then rattle their teeth askin' "why you do this to yourself! QUITit!"
Lovely treatment, the hard work really paid off. Nearbout flawless.

I like his expression and the tones of light. I feel like the light and shadow on his sides could represent two separate sides of him.

Amazing piece. I think it's gritty and wonderful and frankly quite realistic. Your average skooma user/ thief isn't (at least shouldn't be) all sunshine, rainbows and jellybeans. There's a great depth and reality to this piece and I'd like to feature it.

Amazing art! I am wondering about one thing. I see an amulet of Stendarr. Seems odd for a thief/illusionist. What's the story behind that?

nice that you recognized the amulet and asked why. : 3
Gonna explain it, hope it won't be thaaat long tho:
He is wearing the amulet because he is a former vigilant of Stendarr – more or less. He is an orphan and was brought to the vigilants of Stendarr. His mother (a noble Breton lady) and his father (a simple Bosmer) weren't allowed to marry and live together (he doesn't know them either) but the vigilants needed to give him to an orphanage in Jehanna when he was about 1 or 2 years old because of dangerous vampire/daedra attacks. He escaped from the orphanage when he was about 9 years old (he wasn't treated nicely there), lived on the sreets, needed to steal food to stay alive etc.
He found the way back to the vigilants and was old enough to be told about his family. He decided to stay there then, learned the religion of Stendarr and went on journeys to root out vampires, werewolves and daedra. Being about 22 years old he decided to leave the vigilants because killing wasn't what he wanted to do for the rest of his life after he needed to kill a human daedra conjurer who was about to kill him (he doesn't like to kill in general, well monsters and daedra okay if necessary – but no humans, elves or beast folk).
It really made him feel that it was wrong. That was the point where he made his decision to become a thief and went to Rifton in Skyrim because the only thing he has ever been really good at was to steal and not to fight and kill in general. He's more the stealth type with bow and arrows if he can't manage to go around his enemies or he uses illusion so his enemies kill each other or do him no harm at all. I got tired with killing every enemy in Skyrim with my other characters (an assassin and an allround warrior). This was something new and is more fun to play the game again. And he still keeps and wears the amulet because it has been a part of his life and he still lives after some of Sendarr's rules.
ahh this sounds so odd and is too long but that thief has a big background story and characteristic – never ever thought I'd work this out so detailed for one of my characters. I do not even write fanfiction but a friend of mine does and he is integrated in that fanfic so she needed a character sheet and I got one idea after another and this is now the result xD
sorry for the long answer and thank you for your comment and the ask.
I appreciate such comments! <3

Chevvy
