What is hemifacial microsomia?
Hemifacial microsomia is a condition in which the structures on one side of the face are smaller or underdeveloped and are not the same as the other side. The ear and the mandible are always affected although severity varies widely between individuals. A child with hemifacial microsomia may encounter social and emotional challenges unique to this condition.

Mmm..something else. I don't mention this very often or actually not at all, but my little sisters has that disorder. She's getting her surgery done this coming month actually on the 28th. She hears fine though. For the time being, I'm kind of happy for her and a bit scared. but yes, vitriolata is right. It does take guts to do that. But it's a beautiful picture none the less.

Oh, no worries. This is decidedly not a grab for sympathy, just an expresison. My childhood wasn't exceptionally bad, everybody has their trials and tribulations.
