Description
Vinit'aan (literally meaning "human speech") is the name of the language and script used by the Vinikub, the inhabitants of the fictional world Austreya. As the Vinikub are of Mayan descend, so is their language.
After arriving on Austreya, the people realized they wouldn't have time to engrave texts into stone to retain information. Thus a sort of shorthand eventually developed, based on representative glyphs of their original writing system. This simplified over time until it became the modern Vinit'aan script.
A form of glyphs is still in use today. These pictograms are used primarily to quickly convey information without prompting people to have to actually read text. These glyphs are used in similar ways as symbols in our culture - where we might use a triangle with an exclamation mark, Vinikub may use a glyph that means "warning". However, these modern glyphs look quite different from original Mayan glyphs.
