Anne and Loki heard about the falling meteor before they saw it. It was a huge, burning piece of rock looking menacing even during daylight."Some are following its path, going south." Anne called her partner that day. "I'm worried, I feel that this is a bad omen." Her head was lowered, eyes nervously looking up.
"I... Don't know, dear." Loki softly replied. "I haven't really left this place in the past few years and I'm not eager to do it anytime soon..." He let his voice trail off. He wouldn't oppose if she wanted to follow those going south, towards the meteor. In fact, he was willing to follow her anywhere, leaving the one for whom he has a newly found companionship wasn't an option in his mind. "I wonder if we would be safe, even if we stay, though."
The Koi deities splashed at the lake beside them, their heads turned lazily to the water. Life was peaceful by the Great Lake. The Koi worshipers took Loki in, seeing his willingness to live their way and be one of them. They didn't oppose when he brought in a stranger, an injured female who was lost. The last time Anne left was in search of her lost mate, she went south near the Tar Pits, where his rot lived.
Loki could still remember her face when she came back, looking lost and devastated, as her mate's relatives said he left the battle with the Demons gravely injured, never to be found again. He would hate to risk their lives like the other did.
Anne looked down, worry still clear on her face. "Maybe we should go, Loki" She then looked at him, this time looking more determined. "Whatever it is, we should approach carefully, but learn about it."
"Alright then, my lady." He playfully bowed down in front of her before standing and looking at the path they'll have to take. He wished he felt as much courage as he pretended to have at that moment.

As they walked, Anne's eyes wouldn't leave the fiery ball falling from the sky. Loki's, though, were focused to the path in front of them. He haven't left the Koi clan ever since he joined them, almost 10 years before that day. He hoped deep inside his heart that he'd be back soon, that things would go back to normalcy already...
Damn, I haven't written personal stuff like this in YEARS ;^; Hope you don't think it sucks uhahuauhauahuha
Entry was slightly hushed due to my lack of time, I had a problem with my laptop's cable and now I have commissions piled up+contest stuff (and have two or three more contest entries aaaaa)
