I've been strangely productive over the last weeks... I guess I should rather put my time and energy into studying.. exams are coming!!
Anyways this one was a hell lot of fun to do. I tried out some new ways to start the painting by putting together a collage of forest photos providing a nice color palette and a base of textures to start the painting from.
I also tried out some new texture brushes which I have always been carefully avoiding until now. I just don't feel very comfortable with textures and I never know how to use them so that it won't look cheap. But I think I kinda managed it with this one

Very nice! I like the coloring a lot. Very charming. I do suggest a bit more dark tones in shadows for that extra contrast pop. Also the texture used in the upper left trees is a bit distracting and edgey, but otherwise good use of texture.
