Description The battle seemed to go on and on, Robyn had no sense of time anymore, there was no sunlight any longer, the stars were invisible from fog the dragons had brought with them, but still they fought. Horses screamed and battle cries came from their riders, the dragons roared, but it finally ended, the bridge dark from the dragon's poison and blood from both sides. The silence in that moment while they watched the few remaining dragons take off was strange after all of the chaos, and Petri had stumbled to a halt, her wings retracting, seeming to melt into nothingness, Robyn was unsure why, but the bridge's magic seemed to have effected the Goldenwing potion in such a way that Petri could control when her wings appeared and unless she did so the wings would stay hidden.

Before they moved on Robyn went back to place she had stashed Petri's saddle and the remaining supplies to find the saddle had been destroyed by the dragon's poison, the leather full of holes and the top of the saddle completely gone, just the stirrup and straps remaining. Fortunately the supplies had survived, she took the straps from the saddle she fashioned a sort of knapsack from the saddle blanket and buckled them to her back and tended to Petri's wounds gently. Petri did not mind the change, and welcomed her rider back aboard with a small nicker. Robyn patted Petri's neck "You were such a brave girl" she whispered. "You have served me well." With that she joined the column of riders and horses once more, leaving the saddle remains behind. It was a small loss for their great victory.

The queen had rallied them and people smiled tiredly, yet proudly. It had been a long hard trip with many trials. Petri had some new scars on her legs, and Robyn felt about a million years older but they were both safe and alive, that was what mattered. The bridge held faithfully as they crossed over, Petri's head high and her gait seemed to be almost joyful. The sudden light, the power of the magic blinded Robyn and she blinked furiously but Petri leaped and suddenly daylight surrounded them.

It seemed almost as if the sun was shining especially bright that day as the procession made its way into their new world, horses were leaping and trotting, some just laid in the sweet smelling green grass, their riders slipping down to feel the grass between their fingers. Robyn looked up at the sky in awe, it was so blue and clear, to their side mountains rose up in their majestic manner. Robyn slid off of Petri taking the mare's bridle off and looking the mare in the eyes. "Well we made it" she said softly. Petri whickered, nodding her head nudging Robyn gently, then bent her head and let her legs buckle as she rolled around in the grass, Robyn moved back and laughed. And everywhere there was magic, she could feel it humming in the air and a new energy coursed through her, her aches fading as she surveyed what was their new home.
