It really is a very nice idea. I would give it more of a clear-cut pixel look, though. Right now it looks a bit too blurry for a pixel image, in my opinion

Yes it's defnitely better. Only the white edges above the "W" and "AN" look still a bit fuzzy. My guess would be that you have some greyish pixels there which should be erased
