Haha yeah I am, just too bad very few here actually thinks like that. Most of the Swedes rather travel to a warmer country and sit on the beach for a week. xD
Actually thats what I thought about this place, reminded me about the pictures I've seen of Scottland. My dad always telling me he wants to visit Scottland since the highlands looks so beautiful (also I guess it's cause he loves scottish whiskey )

Your dad is not alone of his love of the amber neck warmer but beleive it or not i dont drink it myself or any other alcohol it has been the biggest problem in this country and after working in pubs and clubs i gave up drink( I am a big enough idiot without drink LOL)

Same here, I've been in Greece and it was nice, but I prefer north Sweden haha.
I gave up drinking even before I started, cause the alcohol culture here is... well it's pretty much drink anything with alcohol you can get, until you pass out...

Are you sure you dont live in Scotland LOL, it is the same here people dont know when to stop and unfortunately we as a people like to fight so put them together and you get Scottish drink culture.
So i dropped the drink and only fight when i believe i am in the right.
At least art keeps me out of trouble LOL.

We as a people fight it has been that way for thousands of years even the Romans gave up trying to civilize us LOL.
So unfortunately we are quite aggressive.
I am trying to keep that part of my life hidden deep and throw myself into art.
I have to say that really surprises me with your Viking ancestry i thought you love would be battling every weekend LOL.

Haha yeah, have read about it (I'm a history freak).
I think we lost it somewhere when we changed into a french (
) king in the early 1800's! Since then we started to avoid wars and turned into a peaceful country, not sure if that is good or bad though!

I am a history buff myself and forgot that your neutrality was not always so and some of the greatest Norsemen adventurers were well known for there bravery and fearlessness in battle, I know about Norsemen as the Hebrides are a small set of islands at the tip of Scotland that were settled by Norsemen.
I call them Norsemen because all the people of your part of the world were Viking but the term is only used to describe the Danes so I think Norsemen ( as they were known in my country when first encountered) is much better as a generic name.
Sorry i really like my history i am just not bright enough to remember date and names( dyslexia!)

Haha dw, I'm not good at dates and names either.
Well depends on how you see it I guess, I think the line between Norsemen and Vikings is thin. The Vikings were more like a common name for the Norsemen that plundered and conquered parts of Europe (according to me), but I've seen plenty of diffrent definitions. xD
There was Norwegian and Swedish vikings, actually there is plenty of runestones in Sweden describing Swedish Vikings. But Norwegians pretty much stayed in the north, while Swedish vikings colonised east Europe, as example the Baltic states. But also the Rus' people that formed the Novgorod Republic (today Russia), is said to come from Sweden according to both Slavic and Nordic sources. Also there is Kievan Rus' (or you can pretty much say the Republic of Kiev), it was ruled by the
Rurik dynasty. It's debatable where he came from, but many sources said he came from the land on the other side of the sea (Sweden). And they have found graves in Kiev, which is similar with graves that been found in Sweden. There is even runestones in Sweden that descrbies a raid that ended as a big failure in todays Georgia, only one ship came back to Sweden.
So I guess the Danes is more well-known cause they raided, conquered and even settled down in West Europe. Sorry for the wall of text hahaha ><

Do not be sorry i found it very informative and I am really interested to hear of the runes as i have 4 celtic warrior runes tattooed on my body so i am always looking for warrior runes to add to my collection, if you know of some specific warrior runes i would love to see them.
It is great to hear somebody that loves the true history of there nation i get exited to hear there knowledge, we are lucky that we can find out about our ancestors so easily today and if i had of been bright enough i would have loved to be a archaeologist ( I watched to many indiana jones films as a child, and still do).
That is why i think the Discovery and National Geographic channels ROCK!!

Woah, now I suddenly imagine you as a retired warrior, that used to fight every weekend in the past!
Yeah, only sad thing is that most of the stuff we know about the Vikings, is what the rest of Europe wrote about them. The Vikings didn't care much about writing stuff down, a lot of their writings and buildings was made of tree, so it's all gone. =/
I really need to read about the history of Scotland one day, only know the Romans had to build a wall since they could not beat the Scottish people there. And well I guess everyone heard about William Wallace haha!
Hahaha yeah archaeologist would not be bad. I'm however still in the stage of not knowing what I wanna do!
I should get Disccovery and National Geographic, have neither of those.

Well my friend you seam like a well balanced young man and will exell in whatever you turn your hand to.
Well I was a nightclub bouncer for 8 yrs or so, so yes weekend battles were the noem for me HAHAHAHAH
You would like Scotish history it is all about us fighting with our neighbor HAHAHAHA.
Yes the Romans decided that it was easyer to build a wall than try to calm the Scotish clans than lose lots of troops to concor the highland as we always had the land on our side and new how to fight in the environment, large battles were the Romans fortie we prefferd qiuck small skirmishes.
