Description
Monarch Designation: AbaddonClassification: Schistocerca plagavenum
Nature: Unknown
Height: 77 meters
Range: Russia
MONARCH had, up until the mid 2000's, very little knowledge on where the titans were coming from or where they were. Having only Professor William Randa's recordings of a dangerous expedition to Skull Island and a dredged ship from 1943, MONARCH was at a loss for being able to combat or even contain these titans. One field trip to Africa changed all of that. MONARCH botanist Erika Shiragami was on route to a campsite when she and her team was met with a large swarm of locusts. These red, cat sized creatures attacked any flora matter they could find, leaving the entire area desolate in half an hour. The swarm didn't react to the operatives, content with feeding on the food. When they flew off, Shiragami and her team were met with one of the largest locusts one could ever see. It's large bat like wings blotted out the sun as it's tail shifted like a cobra preparing to strike.
This large locust, later designated Abaddon, tore up the earth and any living thing that hadn't fled. Of the entire team of 10 rendezvousing to the MONARCH campsite, only Shiragami survived. When MONARCH caught wind of this, they reacted accordingly. Taking a recording of Kong (Gigantopithecus rex), thanks in part by Randa, MONARCH played it in hopes of luring the creature away. It was successful, extremely successful. Abaddon and the swarm of locusts chased of any speaker playing the vocalizations of Kong, attacking stray people as well. Realizing that the plan could work, MONARCH attempted the same thing again but in a different location. With Russia's permission, Abaddon was lured to an underground mountain where he and his swarm were sealed off. There, they laid in hibernation.
2019 update
After Monster Zero (Hydrus mortem) had called the other titans, Abaddon awoke from his hibernation. He and his swarm made it back to Africa, where they continued to ravage the land in a much warmer climate. However, one call to Boston, thanks in part to Madison Russel and the ORCA, caused Abaddon and his swarm to stop. While he did not go to Boston, Abaddon did slow his swarm's immense hunger and was even found aiding in increased grow of the grasslands. It isn't known if Abaddon views Godzilla (Gojirasurus aquadeus) as his new alpha, though speculation leads to that being a very high probability.
