"Gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder (GID) is the dysphoria (distress) a person experiences as a result of the sex and gender they were assigned at birth. In these cases, the assigned sex and gender do not match the person's gender identity and the person is transgender. Gender dysphoria is classified as a disorder under dual role transvestism in the 2017 ICD-10 CM. GID was reclassified to gender dysphoria by the DSM-5. The main psychiatric approaches to treatment for persons diagnosed with gender dysphoria arepsychotherapy or to support the individual's preferred gender through hormone terapy, gender expression and role, or surgery."

P.S. I DON'T WANT TO GLORIFY DID OR GID IN ANY WAY. My girlfriends suffers of DID, I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT HOW IT SEEMS IN THE MOVIE. And I am trans, so I also know what GID is.
