Cardiorrhexis is a fancy and ironic way of saying, "broken heart."Drips of acrylic roll down this work, painted roughly and expressively in burnt umber, reminiscent of Egon Schiele's art. Perfect for a space that requires a breath-taking moment.

I'm doing alright. Busy with school, field placement working with grief and loss, painting some and handling the business end of making art.

well busy is good... and your line of work seems very exciting and very noble i might add. you have been missed though, you and your work.
me? i'm improving... definitely doing better. as i think you know, i was in a relationship that didn't end so well, well with a broken heart. it was definitely an altering experience. but it teaches you a lot about yourself and the people around you. you find that there's to much beauty in the world to be sad and that so much of it is directly in front of you. i won't lie though, it has been difficult... but i'm optimistic. i believe in myself and in love and very much trust the wisdom of the universe. i just have to remember that when things are going bad, when life gets shitty, it only means things aren't okay yet, but they will be. and i thank you for supporting me.

As you can see from the lateness of my replies, I've been away from DA again, and I apologize.
I'm glad to hear that you have not only a sense of optimism, but a view of the "bigger picture" out there. So often, the troubles we face feel overwhelming, and stepping back can put things into perspective.
It's good that you know things will eventually be okay, and that sometimes they aren't. This is definitely wisdom that some people never get about living, and I'm also not surprised that you have this awareness and wisdom.
Keep hanging in there. Self-knowledge puts you ahead of the game by light years!

so much of my work is deeply autobiographical and often about things that i dont want to talk about. maybe i should try drawing cats......

As an artist, you can express yourself through whatever you choose--cats, nudes, abstract shapes...
