Description

Jessica’s uppercut took Valerie by surprise, the jolt knocking her slightly off balance. Jessica didn’t extend it fully, but even still it packed enough power in its tight arc to force Valerie backward a step in order to regain composure. As she did so, Jessica followed with another threatening step in, her left fist loaded and ready to bash into Valerie’s face. The blonde boxer steadied her footing just as she saw Jessica begin to bring the left around in the form of a high hook and in response, bent at the knees while ducking her head.

“Hmph…” Valerie sneered. “I’ll make you pay for that one, Hawke…”

The Ripper narrowed her eyes, stepping forward directly into the path of the hook. Raising her right arm, she used her glove and forearm to parry the attack, her momentum carrying her under it and dangerously close to Jessica’s stomach. The Nova Striker clenched her teeth tightly, fully aware of her mistake and what it would cost her. She attempted to bring her gloves down, but both fighters knew she would be too late as Valerie used the extra split-second she bought to launch a left straight low, caving Jessica’s midsection as air was pushed out of her lungs. The nurse winced on impact, letting out a small grunt as her upper body bent over Valerie’s fist. Without giving her a chance to retaliate, Valerie followed the body blow by sending a right hook careening into Jessica’s jaw. The Nova Striker had no choice but to take it full on, its force jerking her torso around as her neck and head rolled to one side.
