Aaarrgh. I was proud of this. Then I saw the other entries, and I was most definitely NOT proud of this. I could blame it on my lack of a tablet, a decent graphics program, or mouse-editing skills, but the fact still stands that I'm only a halfway-passable artist.
I went through many stages of despair with this. I did at least five versions in GIMP before I got a decent one and didn't forget to flatten it.
Suffice to say, I am very despairing. At least my sushi's still good. ... sort of.

don't do that to yourself. what makes an artist better than another? is it because he's got better tools, or just MORE tools? is it because they posses the ability to impress eyeballs with the ability to make something seem lifelike? realism does not equal talent. talent is the love for art and the ability to share that love with everyone else. you do that, so therefore you are talented. ENERGY, through an image. i got this energy through your image. comparing your art to another's is not healthy and well you'll always feel like you're behind... this isn't a race. this isn't a "who's better than who" contest. this is life and we are all GREAT people! including you. you've got something that not many do, an appreciation for the arts, and the talent to convey it. so go ahead... GIVE US SOMETHING!
