To be quite honest. I was very sad they butchered the new movie to a complete pulp instead of using the book. Even the original disney movie had some features from the book.
Above all, the thing that probably disapointed me about the new movie. Kaa was nothing like the original. She only gave Mowgli advice WHILE EATING HIM. Then never shows up ever again.
I love Kaa, he's one of my favorite fictional characters. Majority of the main cast of Mowgli's story in the jungle book are. If you're going to screw something up, at least don't go too far.
But this pic. It makes me really happy. It shows that the cold blooded comrade of Mowgli's group has a warm heart. Thank you.

Actually, she didn't even give him advice, she just showed him his origins (which also adds a plot hole. Unless Kaa is omniscient, there is no way she could possibly have known all this) so she could seduce him. Even though she could have just put him to sleep right away.
But they got pretty much everything wrong in the movie anyway. People say it's based on Kipling's books, but I say that it's only SLIGHTLY more accurate to the books than the 1967 cartoon was (and that's only because of Shere Kahn's depiction and the law of the jungle thing).
But yes, Kaa is my favourite too. I think it's nice how he cares about Mowgli like a brother. And this picture shows that Mowgli can sleep in his coils without an issue as Kaa watches over him. A good depiction of the trust between them.

Surprisingly, the Kaa from the Andy Serkis movie is the closest we're ever going to get to a proper live-action translation from the book.

I love this. It really helps bring the original to light, rather than the butchered version Disney did. I admit, it was charming for kids and whatever, but to those who're really cultured in literature, this keeps the intention of the original story intact. Again, I love it~ <3

Wow! It's so rare to see a Kaa that is not based on the Disney-caricature but really on the Kaa in the original book!
I did not like the Disney-version very much, because the original Kaa is a totally different character: Mysterious, powerful, wise, dangerous, and a true friend of Mowgli!

I love this. As cute as the Disney jungle book was it was possibly the worst butchering of a really awesome set of books Disney has ever, ever done. Odd how it's still watchable despite that. The wise old snake was perhaps actually Mowgli's most helpful friends in the books and he was totally character butchered in the movie.
Oh well... Excellent piece here. Bravo!
