- Bram Stoker
These visionary writers created stories that have inspired me and many generations of artists. It is fascinating that they will continue to do so for a long time without knowing the impact their work had on the modern day horror genre.

H.P. Lovecraft!
I've been reading since I was 4 years old in the early Fifties. In all of my reading, H.P. Lovecraft is No. 1 for horror. Otherwise, one of my very top authors is Ray Bradbury; of course, he could write horrific things when he put his mind to it.
One horror writer who tends to be overlooked is Graham Masterton. "Walkers" could be chilling horror film! (Don't bother with their try at "Manitou". It's just so-so, especially because it's so far from the novel.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_M…

I'll have to look up those 2 writers you mentionned. But yeah, Lovecrat really had something with his celestial beasts and horrors from other worlds. There's so much stuff today inspired by his tales.

I think my favorite one is Lovecraft. The fact that he invented the Necronomicon and now people think it's a real book fascinates me. Just to show how far his stories can travel to the point that people believe that it is real.
