Jade laid on her bed, listening to a random cd she pulled out of her collection. She closed her eyes and began to sing along with the lyrics.

She stopped and thought about the lyrics she had just sung. Oh how she could relate to them. They described perfectly how she felt about Shawn. She swallowed the lump in her throat and continued to sing along with the song.

Tears welled up in her eyes, ready to spill over. She did love him. He said he loved her too. However, he didn't love her enough; or at least not as much as he loved Kerri. She didn't know Kerri well, but her intuition held a great influence over how she felt towards her.

Somehow she would have to accept the fact that she'd always be the other girl. She tried to cheer herself up by shedding new light on the situation. I'll be the girl that got away. He can regret later on in life that he should have picked me while he had the chance.
