I would say buy him food and water but he looks so malnourished that the sudden digestion may kill him, so get him to a doctor, pay for him to see a doctor, alert the authorities, charities, and if you can't do any of that, if you have no money yourself, then talk to him. Find out his name, where he comes from, how he came to be here, at least make sure he's fucking remembered before he starves to death.

There are 1000s of starving people like that on the streets of mumbai. The authorities don't give a fuck. Charities are helpless. Hospitals wouldn't allow him to enter.
Doctors would not even treat him even if you paid them.Β

I didn't do anything because I couldn't.
He is not a Β stray puppy which I can take home.I have a stray cat and a stray dog.
I didn't talk to him because I don't talk to people, let alone strangers. This is india which has 22+ languages.Not everyone speaks english.Conversing with random people on the street is not easy.
I didn't give money because I didn't have any.Street Photography doesn't pay anything.I don't make any money of my pictures.I let charities use them free of cost.
Same goes for buying the man food or taking him to the hospital.
You don't need a name to be remembered.Β

I know it's not that simple, he's not just an animal you can take home. Believe me, I've had enough trouble with people insisting homeless people are "cute" or saying they feel so bad, preaching to others to help and then not doing shit themselves, or worse, newspapers profiting off of other people's tragedy by prodding them for questions or taking pictures of car accidents instead of calling an ambulance etc
I thought you were one of those, and for that I apologies. Must be getting paranoid. Kinda wish you had been nicer about clarifying though, but oh well, I kind of deserved it.

I don't like the term Photojournalism because I'm not trying to tell "their" story but a story of what I see.
Street photography is easy to describe to a non-street/documentary/photojournalistic Β person.

Good point! I totally agree with you. Your photos border on pj because they usually have a strong connection with the place and the culture of your place, they tend to have a social message, but yes, they are about YOUR REINTERPRETATION of what is in front of you

I like it when you say you're sell a story of what you see.
Obviously, your shot will be a way to tell and express your feels, words, thoughts about what you see...
Mmh... Street is not often that simple to describe to a non-etc... person, but again, I understand fully your point of view
(let's say also that this "photojournalism" term was about the DA categories. They are what they are, but allow better exposure and else when abiding by them. Here, again, I got your point, then it's always eventually a matter of choice (about the categories here
