She paused. ‘Not quite at that level of comfort yet.’
Elias nodded lightly.
‘Have you ever heard of dissociative identity disorder?’ she asked softly, hoping she could avoid triggering Marc at all during this short trip. ‘Multiple personality disorder?’
‘Multiple personality, yes,’ he replied. ‘Why?’
‘Well…’ she said then looked back at Marc who was kissing their daughter’s head peacefully with his eyes closed, breathing in the scent of her hair. He looked like he was back in their flat — back in his safe, controlled environment.
‘Marc?’ Elias asked. ‘Marc is… mentally ill?’
