I was in Alaska as a photojournalist for The Daily News Miner in the early 80's when I got a call from one of the city journalists asking if I wanted to tag along for a photo opp with Gene Roddenberry! The creator of Star Trek. Not only I got the chance for the photos but actually he invited me to put the camera down and sit with him for coffee. The possibility of using words here that reflect my emotional, mental, and spiritual state of euphoria may not be possible. I must say, however, that to this day, more than a quarter of a century later, I still feel goose bumps whenever I bring these memories back to life. This image is my humble thank you to a great master of the arts who gave so much to humanity in hope, humanism, love, and creativity.
