Done for Exercise 31 on www.conceptcookie.com Photoshop CS6 and Wacom.

What did I learn today?
– The short fur on the leg makes very undefined shadows. In the references its often unclear wether I was looking at an actual shadow or the color of the fur.
– Short brushstrokes around the edges of color and light make it "hairy"
– Fur is bristly - so no softening brush
– Hoof could be hightliy reflective if polished and cared for (like with horsies)... on your regular antelope hoof are still hard, but often dull and dusty and not very shiny

Most important lesson:
My shading technique is not suited for fur. Instead of coloring in the last step I should have done it between shading and detailing. So I could get more color-variance into the highlights and fur-strokes. Will keep it in mind for the dogs paw.
