Description
My handsome baby boy.12 years ago he came into our lives, and stayed by a luck of good timing. A friend was living on her own and could barely feed herself, so what does she do? Yup, she goes out and buys a kitten! She had him for a week or so before she started moving into a new place, which had a dog. To make the move easier she asked us to look after him for the weekend. We said yes, but were secretly planning on taking him back to the pet store on the Monday. As luck would have it, it was a holiday Monday, so they were closed. By another stroke of luck my parents (who had been away camping) came home early on account of the weather. We told them what was going on and they agreed that was the best thing for him. But after spending one day with him, they said no, we're keeping him.
He was already named when we got him. Shortly after we got Taz, mom started calling him Tazinsky. I've always kinda had a thing for Russian, the language, the names, the diminutives... so I instantly started trying to think of something for Rusty. Just so happened that shortly after that my dad gave me a copy of Crime and Punishment for my birthday. The main character is of course Raskolnikov. It was too perfect... just change a couple of letters, and my baby has a Russian name - Rustolnikov, Rustya for short.
I actually took this picture over a year ago, was just testing out my new camera, but never uploaded it.
Rest in peace, my little Rustya.
