Description
I got a note recently pointing this meme out to me. I've done it for Julius before, but that was back before I was making comics and really got to know him as a character. So here's another one.The Imperials vs Stormcloaks thread comes from skyrimforums.org/sf/ . I used to participate in that discussion, but stopped when I finally got tired of seeing all the same arguments getting repeated. It's still showing no signs of stopping.

I noticed that I never commented on this.
Taking Cicero out back to be shot is fine, but I personally like to take him to Mistwatch and use the drawbridge to launch him into the wild blue yonder. (Using Vampire Force Choke to throw him off a mountain is also fun)

So long as Cicero's dead, I'm good.

Not QUITE sure what's more annoying: Cicero (I, personally, think he's an entertaining fellow, but I admit that his constant talking when being a follower can be somewhat annoying), or his fangirls (well, the stereotypical fangirl, anyway)

What happens after Cicero is shot? I wonder if Balgruuf goes Jarl Ballin' on that damned jester's corpse. Man, gotta love Balgruuf.

Surprisingly, my dovahkin would be fine with yours being an imperial when he is going to join the stormcloaks. He doesn't really like the stormcloaks: he hates both them and the imperials equally; however, he hates the Thalmor more than he hates either of them and he sees the stormcloaks as the best chance at stopping them. Overall, he just wants to stop the Thalmor and the dragons so he can get back to his true goal: worshiping Azura, Hircine, and Sheogoroth and seeking revenge on Hermaus Mora.

Very nice.
As for stopping the Thalmor, I honestly think the Empire has a better chance of recuperating and destroying them than Ulfric does. Best case scenario, though, would be for the two factions to join each other.

Davion's (my dovahkin) logic is that Hammerfell managed to defeat the Thalmor and that the empire, even though it has half of Skyrim on its side, has failed to defeat the other half of Skyrim, so he believes that the empire is decaying and won't be able to defeat the Thalmor. Of course, with the dragonborn against them, the Thalmor stand no chance against anyone who fights against them. And the Thalmor really can't fight a prolonged war against humans because of the slower breading rate of the elves. But Davion really hates the Thalmor and wants to destroy them as quickly as possible and, as a worshiper of the Daedra, he sees the chaos and wars that would result from the lack of a unified empire as an added bonus. Worshiping your forbidden gods is a lot easier when the soldiers have other things to worry about than you.

I feel that Running Away from Dragons Screaming should be a skill in more games. I mean, is there any time it WOULDN'T be handy to have?

Yeah, which means you shouldn't die. Which means that if Violence fails, you need Running Away from Dragons Screaming.

I'm generally more of a "take cover" kind of guy than a "run away from dragons screaming" kind of guy.
If some dragon is giving me grief with its breath and doesn't want to land for a melee beatdown, I find a suitable rock or other place to weather it, or lure it to some spot that does have said cover and start using arrows on the thing. Finding cover against a dragon is preferable anyway if you're not a tank built to raise up your shield, take the thing's worst and return it with interest like my character generally is.

Gotta admit, Bethesda managed to make a genuinely divisive conflict. Months after crushing the rebellion, and I'm still not sure I did the right thing.
I wonder if I should do this meme? Looks like fun.

That they did. I liked the Civil War more than the main quest.

I remember Hadvar. He was such an affable soldier. A poster boy, really. But I got the impression that he was almost forcing himself into his duties... he just seemed a little too enthusiastic in his condemnation of the Stormcloaks.
When I met him for the second time during the quest for the Jagged Crown he was in good humor, a real buddy. And then after the siege of Whiterun he asked me, "Who do you think killed more rebels? You or me?" It seemed wrong that he would make a game out of it. I worried that perhaps he, like many soldiers, was sacrificing his humanity for the war effort.
After the war was over I found him in the Sleeping Giant Inn. He said the same thing... "Who do you think killed more rebels? You or me?" And I know it was just my imagination, but this time I couldn't help hearing a kind of wry resignation in his voice. A sad smile. The burden of remorse tempered with the powerlessness of necessity, settling in like a lasting wound.
Many good men and women had died at our hands. We'd had the power to stop them, but not the power to save them. After a last lingering look I left him in the Inn, where I knew he'd spend the rest of his days quietly drinking toasts to the "glories" which would always haunt him.
That's what I love about Skyrim. It's a storytelling engine.
