Description This is a picture I took when I was trying to get a "sun-star" effect--and it worked! I found the cross in a cemetary. The cross caught my eye because of the beautiful Celtic design on it.

Nope, no filter! I believe I used a setting of f/16 on my 55mm lens...or it might have been f/22 on my wide angle. Anyways, the way to get a sun-star without a filter is to place the sun (or light source) along the edge of something and use a small aperature.

Well, that's definitely one beautiful photo, I love the deep blue color of the sky and the sun just peeping out. Did you use a filter to get that star effect? It looks awesome.

Perfect blue tones in the sky, and that lens flare is beautiful. My only suggestion is perhaps to get more of the front of the cross in the frame so as to show it off a bit more... but this is already quite an image. Good work!

This is a very good subject, and you've made a beautiful image of it! The nice, blue sky, the sun shining just next to the stone, very cool!
