Looking through my old art, I can't tell you how upsetting it is after all this time my most favorited piece is just a picture of Luna staring intensely at something that I did in under an hour...

Nah, Kit, don't look at it like that. My most faved and most viewed aren't my favourite deviations, but, hey, people like what they like, you know?
I try to take it as a compliment that they like something I can do really quickly, like a biography template or something, and yours is a drawing that you can whip out quickly.
Maybe more of your watchers love Luna a lot, and maybe someone saw it in their faves and was like, "hey this looks awesome"
there's a lot of ways to look at things, but whatever you think is probably best. I have the most viewed as a template and I wish it was something I really put effort into, but eh, that's not how our work goes. Sometimes it pushes and sometimes it pulls. I guarantee you'll be whipping out more art that gets better and better- sure, people will still like this, it's a classic, but they'll come for that and stay for the new (:

this looks amazing,
I also saw your edit, it necessarily doesn't have to be her just staring at nothing, you could make a part two or another drawing with what she's looking at
or you could leave it up to the viewer, it gives them something to think about, wether she is looking at an enemy or she is staring at the love of her life, it gives the sense of mystery
maybe also adding a background would give that extra hint, she looks very elegant also
but she looks very amazing kit!!

It's because the original image is done on paper and uploaded to the computer. Had it not I would need more layers and time.
