Description
Another PSD file, after many questions of the way I use cel shades. Honestly, I change the way I use the colours depending on the piece, or if I´m in a hurry or whatever. I don´t have a unique way of colouring, I try to experiment in every piece, and that is the way I´ve learned. As you will see, this is pretty different of the one I submitted sometime ago ([link] ), and thats what I´m talking about, every artist has its own code, you just have to find yours, trying to experiment as much as possible. Meanwhile, hope this helps.
See ya!

I took the flat colors and lines out of this and it ended up looking strange, but cool.

Excellent, I like to read comments from other artist on their work, that helps a lot so you can understand their methods!

Yes, thanks for sharing. It's stunning how relatively simple the lineart looks and how polished and refined the final result.

I found your linework pretty interesting. Did you actually draw that in those different shades initialy, or did you re-work it at some point?

it was drawn and inked traditionally, after scanned and coloured, I tinted the lines

That's very interesting to know. Usually I mess around with layer settings to try to emulate that effect. Perhaps I'll try to change up next time and attempt it this way.
Also, I noted that your highlights appeared to be a slight gradient... is that right?
