Description
Enchanting as the moon, wild as the foxes that run below it. Feral and untamed as the woods they haunt.Beware travelers through wooded paths who do not regard the flora and fauna as they would their own kin.
These playful vixens will misguide you with smiling eyes to your demise.

I used my own stock for this photomanipulation.
The original Primary photography I shot for my work:
___TIP______________________________________________________________________________________
Problem: Depth of field is something that we're used to seeing in so many terrific photographs.
Unfortunately the lack there of is often what makes photomanipulations fall short of grace in the eye of it's audience. When you add focal depth well, it's hardly noticeable. However, when you don't add it,
the resulting work often looks a bit off.
Solution: Decide what plain you want to have in focus (typically I choose characters as my focal point).
Make each plain in front and behind your focal plain progressively more blurred as the distance increases.
Example: In this piece, my character is in focus while the the branch she's clinging to starts of in focus and fades into a blur as it goes back in space toward it's edge. The plants just behind are 20% blurrier, the main backdrop image 25% blurrier. The trick is to have a subtle and gradual increase of blur.

As always, I will greatly appreciate your questions comments and critiques
but please RESPECT THE MODEL or the whole internet will know you are lame. . .

Wowow! This is exquisite. The pose is what truly makes the whole piece come together - wild and unusual, feral and flowing. Amazing work!

Wee Thank you!
The pose was a challenge for both myself and the model.
I had to shoot her sideways and then take separate shots of her limbs, chest head, etc. to get the effect of gravity on her then reconstruct the pose in photoshop. It took a bit of figuring out, but it was a lot of fun!
I'm so glad that you like it!
Thank you so much!

I love the piece, The character, how did you get her to lean as if gravity were in play? I mean her breast, they lean with gravety or is it just luck.

Thank you for noticing. This picture is actually an amalgamation of several pictures. including some where she is standing and leaning to the side. I cut the pictures apart in photoshop and re-pieced them together to create the pose.
I'm really glad that you like it!

finally somebody does it like I do. Except mine are created from a multitude of different photos. Like one for hand, one for fingers, etc. I applaud you for taking the time.

3D is the media I focus on now but when first starting digital art I did photo manipulations. Not that good but non the less it was the best I could do. I used photographs of me to create the models and other photographs I had taken for the scenery. How about checking them out.
this one was supposed to be like an oil painting [link]
these next two were made to illustrate something I had written and also the way I felt about myself [link] , [link]
My self as a fantasy character [link]
to see if could merge with water [link]
The hardest one as it took 6 months to do, but I was in and out of the hospital [link]
this one the depth of field was important. All of my work had the background in focus as it was meant to be that way. [link] Most of the scenery is of different photographs. Of course you can tell as it is not well done.

Brilliant work. Love it. You have composed this perfectly. Everything is as it should be - shadows, hair, fingers, blur - and of course the model is great. Excellent work.

I think this is one of your finest photo manips, the subject, pose, composition and technique. I agree with *hawthorne-cat , definitely worth a DD. ;D Additionally, there has been improvements as you have progressed in your art. I love seeing your behind the scene pictures as well. I am not a huge fan of photo manips, but yours are always intriguing.

;D I've been watching your works a long time now, almost two years, I think? I think I've seen your birthday pop up twice now. I most enjoy your works with the great costumery as well as fantasy composition. They definitely show the work you put behind each piece.
And making your own stock may sometimes work better than spending hours scouring for the right pose, expression, garment, etc that you envision, and scouring for the one that grants you the right permissions for your use. Will you ever be releasing some of your post work as stock, or do you already have a stock account I am not previously aware of?

I don't have a stock account yet, but I am planning on making a separate account for stock. When I do I will post about it in a journal. It's a little overwhelming but I guess I gotta just knuckle down and start somewhere.

Glad to hear that! My main use for stock is as reference for paintings or digital practice (not manips, paints). I really need to practice working from reference more often, hone my ratio and anatomy skills. I see considerable improvement in my own art when I work with a reference.

I'm recovering from the initial trauma it caused me. And DA is looking into it. Hopefully it will be a non issue. Besides, I needed to do some cleaning house anyway. Make my old skins better. So they will be new and better when re-released. Right now, I put them all in storage.

Id like you to know... I submitted a request that this be a DD
in case its not selected Id like you to know my reasons...
Id love if this piece was given a DD
first of all... the subject is stunning! we really get the feel of the wild weird fae creature... someone... thing totally foreign... she isnt just a girl with pointed ears or wings... some looks unhuman is spirit!!! its her looks her pose the very essence of her...
secondly... the manip is awesome... that way the photographer as captured the pose... and situated the layer to add effect to the whole image thru a complex and elegant environment!
in a third way... the artist uses all their own stock! this isnt a simple cut and paste of other people brilliants! the entire work is original!
and finally a fourth reason... the artist comments are interesting and useful!!!
I really hope you consider this piece!

its so wonderful to see a manip thats all origin art... so many look sooooo the same in style and technique... and too often only look beautiful b/c of a stock artists efforts... the manip artist seems to be only a skilled kindergardener...
