Description
It was over. As the sun slowly set over the small town, only one figure still stood in the square, the smoke still wafting from his pistol. The smell of gunpowder hung in the air. The townsfolk watched from the relative safety of the nearby buildings, eyes peeping out through the saloon door and the windows of the general store. When the gang of elven bandits had moved in, it was thought that no one could stop them. The meager defenses of the townsfolk were no match against their magicked flintlock pistols. The sheriff was run out, his deputy murdered, the mayor wrapped in chains. The bandits raided the stores, robbed the houses, took whatever they wanted. It looked like they were getting ready to set up shop for a long time.
Then he came.
They laughed at him. What could a pitiful little goblin do against a force like this? Over twenty elves went to meet him in the square, jeering and mocking, shooting into the dust around him, hoping he would dance. He did not dance.
When the dust settled, no one was laughing.
He did not wait for a reward. He did not even wait to be thanked. He simply continued on, his poncho blowing in the wind, heading West, ever West. The townsfolk, still cowering in their hiding places, whispered the name of their savior.
"El Relampago Verde."
Green Lightning.

I love this drawing almost as much as I love the story behind it. You really have a gift for setting the mood. I do enjoy a good long-eared goblin though! So entertaining!
