Right, let's do this. I put off doing one of these for a long time because it felt kind of silly for me to put together an influence map when I'm not influenced to do anything... I mean, all I do is fanart anyway, really, but... whatever. I feel very strongly about all of these things so I'm gonna do it.

1. Invader Zim- I got into the show May 2011, and it is the thing that started me drawing. I mean, I had drawn before that, but I didn't really start seriously trying to draw until I watched this show and decided I wanted to try drawing the characters. This show is a HUGE part of who I am today. It's the reason I got a tumblr and met new friends and through them I got into a bunch of OTHER amazing things! There are so many great things about this show--the characters, the character interactions/relationships, the animation, the backgrounds, how much detail is put into everything, and oh gosh the humor. I just... I just love it a lot...

2. Portal/Portal 2- I've known about the games forever and I kind of considered myself a fan long before I even played the games. Then I finally played the first game in May 2013, then the second, and I fell in love even more. This is the other fandom that I met a lot of amazing people in! As for the games themselves, they're incredibly creative with amazing characters, and so much detail that you can find something you never saw before every single time you play through them. They have so much lore to them and they're both beautiful games, and the humor in both is top-notch. Yes. XD Plus, female protagonist and excellent female villain! Everything I could ever want!!

3. Gravity Falls- I think I started watching this back in 2012 when it only had a few episodes out. I liked it a lot but I wasn't really a HUGE fan of it, even when the first season ended, but then I started showing episodes to BabyCharmander and I suddenly realized WOW I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS. And I still am. It's one of my favorite shows now--second only to IZ, actually! Everything about this show is brilliant. The characters, the humor, the dialogue, the backgrounds!!! Not to mention the continuing storyline that really got started at the end of last season/all through this season and the mysteries and clues that keep us all guessing. It's such a gripping story with great characters and.... wow.

4. Disney/Pixar- I grew up with Disney and Pixar, of course, and I still love the movies (especially Pixar ahaha). Watching rough pencil work from Disney movies makes me dream about being a 2D animator someday but working in 3D would be really cool, too. Monsters, Inc. will always hold a special place in my heart. Also, the music is fantastic.

5. Inkheart- Want to know the book that originally inspired me to write? That would be this one. In fourth grade I read through it for the fourth time, I remember, and decided I wanted to write a story just like it. So I wrote a page and showed it to my mom, and she loved it and said I should be an author. So that's how that started (apparently I was an impressionable little kid. Also, the story I actually wrote is nothing at all like Inkheart XD ) Anyway, I haven't actually read the books in a while, but the Inkworld trilogy is very good and I definitely recommend it. Actually, all the books by Cornelia Funke are good, and I recommend all of them.

6. Animal stories- You know, like the Warriors series, Redwall, the Mistmantle Chronicles, Gregor the Overlander, etc. Mouse Guard is here to represent all of those because I got the Winter book for my birthday and I was reading through it again and remembering how much I liked the books. It's got a good story, great world-building, and gorgeous illustrations.

7. Psychonauts- I've been playing this game since 2005. It's so well-made and original, with so much attention to detail that there are voice clips recorded for every character for pretty much EVERYTHING, even stuff that's impossible to do without cheating. It's just wacky and hilarious with an interesting storyline and cool art, and all of the characters have distinct personalities. Plus, the main character is voiced by Richard Horvitz just like a certain little green alien I love, so there's that.

8. Animals- I love animals. Ever since I was a kid I always felt like I enjoyed writing about animals more than writing about people.... They're just really interesting to me--especially bats, cats, mice, and birds like ravens, crows, owls, falcons, etc.

9. Music- I was never that into music until recently. Now I make a playlist for every project I'm working on and fill it up with like 50 songs (oops). I still don't follow bands or anything, but there are some songs that I really, really love.

10. Childhood movies- The Secret of NIMH, Babe, Labyrinth, basically any movie I watched a lot as a kid that wasn't Disney. I owe them a lot. The Secret of NIMH itself is an amazing movie with gorgeous art and animation.
