Radiation was released along side some kind of anomalistic energy, making these things called anomalies which are dangerous if your close to them. And whatever life was here has been transformed into abominations. The area of effect still slowly expands with each emission blast from the heart of the zone.

Yurmack: so. We need to be careful of what we do. Atlas and other nation's military patrols have orders to shot on sight anything or anyone suspected of smuggling goods from the zone.
