I think so too! Got a picture of her hauling herself up onto a dock in the works, might do another of her slapping a fish or something too.

Snakes have no breasts, why does she have like eight?

She has six, and they're reptomammaries, my Venrock race and their subspecies have them.

So she's a reptile-like mammal?
π: 0 β©: 1
JazzLizard In reply to GuesssWho9 [2014-07-15 23:15:13 +0000 UTC]
Yup, the Venrock family of species are semi-warm blooded, are covered in tiny, silk-like scales, give birth to live young in soft eggs and nurse them using their repto-mammaries. They're like a mix of 30% reptiles and 70% mammals.

Unusual and lovely. You have a vivid imagination.

Thank you for thinking so! Usually people use terms such as "odd" or "disgusting", but vivid works for me

Good! You need to draw a multi-boob gal or two.

She probably wouldn't be inclined to do so unless you pissed her off, but you would not want her to bite you. On Midden, Venrocks, Hikki and some Xain have venomous bites, but it's a conscious choice weather to inject venom or not.

Mydin In reply to JazzLizard [2014-07-04 14:08:04 +0000 UTC]
That sounds about right for sea snakes. Their poison is more potent than most land snakes, but they usually inject so little it's not a hazard.
Do you have all this written down somewhere? It sounds like an interesting world you've created. What species/race/culture does she fall under?

JazzLizard In reply to Mydin [2014-07-04 14:59:36 +0000 UTC]
I'm writing an encyclopedia of my universe, she's from the planet Midden, a world similar to Earth, but with a diverse ecosystem of humanoid aliens. She's a Merkin, and they're as varied as the fish in the sea, in general.

That'll be nifty. I recall many other Hikki from your gallery, and Tuso is one of my favourites from this setting.

Well, they're relatively neutrally buoyant, or slightly negatively so, otherwise she'd have a hard time swimming anyway other than upside down.

As always, Jazz, your imagination is a delight to see manifested.
Her gills on her side is an interesting twist to the "classic" throat location. Β Great job on the light rays through water effect!Β

JazzLizard In reply to nomyai [2014-07-03 11:43:25 +0000 UTC]
Well on the throat, I don't think they'd be large enough to properly function as "water lungs" for a creature of hers or human proportions. I'm definitely going to do a step-by-step animation of this, since she didn't start out this way

SchnitzelMobile [2014-07-03 09:44:50 +0000 UTC]
I really like that. Aside from the obvious reasons (hehehehe) She is very cute looking. You are really getting good at that water effect man!

Thanks! I might have to go back and redo or touch up some older pieces. It's pretty damn easy now that I know what I'm doing, it's a three-layer combo with a few different opacity treatments.

Yeah, my style changes depending on what tablet I use to draw with, where I do the drawing, and if I'm using references or not.
Also if I'm drunk or not.

I think it comes out as, "Mother in the Sea", but I could be wrong.

FrozenGerman In reply to ShadetheMystic [2014-07-03 04:25:06 +0000 UTC]
That would be "Mater In Mari". This would be more accurately translated as "Mother Against/Into/Toward the Sea".

I can't believe I forgot to say so earlier, but this is excellent. You have a unique taste in subject matter, and it's hard to imagine any other artist's style realizing it so well.
