"We are going to own this school in no time!" chirps Trinity excitedly.

"Now come on, girl, pump the brakes," chides Rebecca. "This ain't Prep. This place is the real deal. What makes you think we just gonna walk right in and 'own it'?"

"Because we've got something nobody else does," replies Trinity with a smirk.

"Oh? And what's that?"

"We've got Jennifer Frickin' Marrow!!!" With that, she throws her body against the taller brunette's and wraps her up in a tight hug.

"Hey!" cries Jennifer in protest as Trinity proceeds to give her an incredibly hard smack on the rear. "Oh my god, you are such a little weirdo! Get off!"

"Make me!" replies Trinity, squeezing tighter.

Rebecca snorts. "Girl, don't you know anything? Novices don't fight in the Arena at Haven. Only second-year and higher."

"What!? They don't let Novices compete? What kinda B.S. is that!?"

Rebecca shrugs. "Rules are rules."

"Actually," interjects Jennifer softly, "that's not an official rule. Novices are definitely discouraged from competing, and traditionally they abstain. But there's no actual rule against it."

"Well," says Trinity confidently. "We are not your average Novices. I say we do it! Screw tradition!"

"That sounds like quite a dangerous attitude, little girl," says a rather haughty voice from behind the trio...
