Description Sasuke went flying backwards, crashing into several rubbish bins and an old washing machine. His bad leg bounced against the ground, sending pain shooting up his spine, and the splint creaked alarmingly. As the ringing in his ears subsided and the darkness faded away from his vision, he glared at the tall, strangely grey teen who came stalking into the atrium.

“Hot damn, but you are fast,” grinned the teen, flashing his teeth. Coal black hair spiked over a pair of gleaming dark eyes sunken in a grey face. A simple wifebeater t-shirt covered rippling muscles and a series of strange jagged tattoos that ran up and down his arms. Fingerless gloves and biker boots completed the overall menacing appearance. “This might actually be worth something.”

“Johnny!” One of the smaller thugs ran up. “Johnny, boss, we brought him here, just like you asked. This is the guy, y’know, the one that killed the Slicers, that everyone’s been…”

“Yeah, yeah, I know, I know.” Johnny Rancid backhanded the gang member. “The one who’s supposed to be all tough and shit. Took you all long enough to get him here. Right.” He returned his attention to Sasuke. “Here’s the Deal. You and me’s gonna fight. Right here. And buddy, you better put up a good one, cause I ain’t had a real challenge since that Robin shithead.”

I'm pretty proud of this picture, actually. Sasuke looks a little wonky, but Rancid turned out surprisingly well, and the lighting effect I was aiming for really works. I was going to draw detailed gang members, but then decided it'd be easier (and cooler) to represent a mob with a simple dark mass of bodies. And then I added some semi-transparent layers that... anyway. I like how this one turned out.

Sorry for not commenting earlier in the week, I had some things going on at the time. Pretty good, I guessing the gang in the background is a reference to "The Dark Knight Returns"?

Very good. The Slicer brothers, who appear in "Humiliation" were originally written as a reference to Frank Miller's vision. It seemed only right to reference them in the picture as well.

And you definitely got it right. Speaking of Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns", I'm a member on Comic Book Move (dot) Com, and I just recently put up an editorial article on the influence of that story. I named it "Connecting The Dots: The Influence Of "The Dark Knight Returns"", and I can thank you for that. I've gotten 5 comments on it, with 2 of them being my own in answering someone. Care to check it out when you can? Like I said, comicbookmovie(dot)com in the editorial section.
