Okay. This idea is just... weird. O_oYes, it's Mandy from TGAoBaM as Millia Rage from the Guilty Gear series. How or why exactly I got the idea to merge the two together, I have no clue. I guess it's just that I'm a Mandy artist who happened to start playing GGX lately, mainly for studying the game's character designs. The only thing the two characters have in common is that they're girls, they're blonde, and they have a band on their head. This only makes sense if you've gotten used to the way I draw Mandy. She certainly looks too far removed from the original toon Mandy in this pic!
I virtually copied Millia Rage's pose from her pic in the character select screen. Anyone who's a veteran of the game can probably see that right away. And I even tried to keep her logo's font and colors as close as I can remember to the original, even though it says "Mandy Rage" now!
Yes, it's a strange idea, but it turned out looking great, and it gave me a chance to emphasize detail for once! And look, I actually drew fingers again!

Yep, Cartoon Network's Mandy! 
This is the result of an idea that came from watching CN regularly and taking trips to the arcade about twice a week!

To start, this is an excellent pic of Mandy.
When I first saw this, I thought she was a different version of Linear Cannon from Evolution 2: Far Off Promise for the Sega Dreamcast. For some reason that was the first person I thought of when I saw this. I haven't played the game in years and have almost forgotten about the character. Strange.

They are similar in the way that their hair and skin are the same color and that they have most of their legs showing.
People just didn't give the Dreamcast enough credit. It had great games and great potential, but no one wanted to take any time with it. It's sad really.

As for the DC, I don't think it was because it was a bad system in itself, but it was because SEGA had a sort of bad habit of dishing out new consoles before the one they just released has been fully exhausted for its worth. Much like what Nokia's doing today with their phones!

Even at the time of the Sega Saturn, that system wasn't given that much credit either. Not compared to that of the Playstation and the Nintendo 64. It might have ben because of the fact that since the Sega Saturn didn't have nearly as many good games as the Plastation and the N64, people weren't really looking forward to the Dreamcast. The end result, not very many sales due to judging the book by it's cover. I didn't hear many people making regular conversation about the dreamcast like they would the PS and N64, so the DC couldn't have been that popular. People grossly underestimated the DC. I liked it, a lot.
It's quite sad how something that had so much potential went the way of the dinosaurs the way it did.

Well, yeah Millia does have a short skirt. But I guess it ended up looking shorter on Mandy! When I was drawing this, I had *bleedman 's original character in mind: Ginger from Sugar Bits. She had a similar skirt like the one you see here. And Millia doesn't wear shorts. I guess besides her high evade and quick attacks, her costume design could be one more reason for her popularity!
But even the shortest of skirts can be controlled to not show anything so long as they're not animated, and have to be drawn as a still pic.

Yep, it's an awesome game. Although I'm not much of a gamer when it comes to fighting games, I still got hooked on GGX for its imaginative characters!

That's certainly true. I was hooked on May because I had seen her so often before getting the game.

I agree! May stuck me as cute when I first saw her, but I soon preferred selecting Millia/Jam to her because she's so hard to work with! Millia and Jam can dish out damage more easily because they're easier to control! And yeah, the destroy move counts as well. It's much harder to successfully execute May's destroy move than any of the other characters!
But that's preference according to gameplay. Preference according to character design is another matter!

You see sword wealders (Sol Badguy, Ky-Kiske, Baiken, Johnny), Big Buys (Potemkin), Demons and Angels (Testament, Zato, Dizzy, Vemon)and Ninjas (Chip) too often...
At least Axl-Low is unique.

For Niho's personality, just keep in mind that she's has a sweet and kind nature, and she can be shy sometimes. Kind of like Shinobu from Love Hina. Basically, she's just that shy girl who always cares and never seems to get mad at anyone or anything!
